SCHAUCO is a medium-sized Company operating and trading with hides and skins and was founded in 1980. SCHAUCO is a member of the SCHAFSTALL-Group.

In the beginning SCHAUCO’s activities were basically focused on commercialization and distribution of splits as well as the Austrian hide-trade.
In the year 2003 SCHAUCO took over the business of BAVARIA Lederveredelung (Großbottwar) and therewith the production and distribution of crust- and PU-coated split leather as well as the production of kangaroo leather for sport shoes and motorcycle clothing.

In the end of 2005 the range of products was expanded with wetblue-, crust- and finished leather for the automobile-, uphostery and aircraft industry.

The tanning and finishing of raw material is realized by the Slovakian tannery SLOVTAN Contract Tannery in Liptovsky Mikulas and by the German tannery SÜDLEDER GmbH & Co in Rehau under consideration of the highest environmental aspects.
